Key Requirements for using towing adapter:
Adapter requires a 50mm square removable hitch tow bar to be used.
Draw bar length (coupling to caravan/trailer front) on trailer or caravan at least 1.3 meter for carrying 2 bikes or at least 1.35 meter for carrying 3 or more bikes with Rock Racks Vertical Bike Rack Bolt On Mount and 1.4m for 50mm Square Hitch Receiver Mount to allow for clearance of bikes when turning. (These clearances are tested with Rock Racks Bike Racks only, please contact us if intending to use with other branded racks to ensure clearance of bikes will be sufficent when turning)
AUSTRAILIAN, USA, NZ made caravans normally have long enough draw bar. ENGLISH made caravans normally have draw bar that is to short.
Always check the VEHICLES TOW BAR VERTICAL LOAD RATING. The load will be weight of towing adapter + bike rack and bikes + the weight of trailer/caravan at the coupling point. Ideally a vertical load rating 250kg + is prefered for using a vertical bike rack towing adapter with caravan or trailer.

*Height Adjustment on bike rack mount allws rack height to be adjusted to ensure adequate clearance of draw bar mounted boxes, gas bottles, trailer winches etc.
