SUPPORT STRAPS

ROCK RACKS SUPPORT STRAPS are available in either ROOF RACK RAIL or REAR DOOR mounted options. 
Straps should be used as a single sprap on 2 prong racks and as a pair on vertical bike racks to reduce the stress placed on vehicles tow bar with the whip force created when driving over bumps and didps in the road. 
All Rock Rack bike racks are easily strong enough to be used without support straps but many vehicle tow bars in New Zealand do not have the required vertical load rating to be used without the additional support. 

ROOF RACK RAIL mounted straps are better option if vehicle has either raised type roof rack rails or has a roof rack mounted to rails. Each strap has a hook and loop system to conect to roof rack rail and has a camlock that attaches to bike rack. 

REAR DOOR mounted straps are also fine if vehicle does not have roof rack rails. They attach to top of rear door and back to bike rack.
Each strap comes with 2 flat rubber coated hooks per strap that fit over top of rear door to spread the load and camlock that attaches to bike rack
